This is my favorite Sesame Street song (with the exception of the Blueberry song sung by Bette Midler, but I think that was just on a tape and was never on the show).

I found Fuzzy's old collar today and it made me very sad. I still miss her a lot. Then I thought about making her old tags into a necklace. Is it creepy to wear your dead cat's tags on jewelry?

From http://www.wernerherzblog.com
Parts I found particularly funny:
Werner Herzog in conversation with Glübe Pifft: "WH: As the phrase goes, I put my pants on in the morning just like you. One leg at a time. The first leg, my left leg on most occasions, gingerly feeling its way through that tunnel of pant leg fabric with a keen awareness of the toes…
GP: …the toes?
WH: Yes, that they might not snag upon the cuff of the pant leg, bending them back until they snap. I have always been deathly afraid of this happening.
GP: Then it is not true then, Werner. We do not put on our pants on in the morning in the same way, for I throw my own pants on without a thought for my toes, preferring to angrily swash about on the ground as I hold my legs aloft waiting for that parallel moment when I can forcibly rip the seat of my pants towards my ass.
and also:
I was offered a drink called a Snapple Iced Tea yesterday. There was a sketch of the sun on the label. A note next to this sketch informed me that this picture was not to scale. Another reminder of how completely ignorant and gullible advertisers take us for. I refused this drink, even though I was severely dehydrated at the time. I have also noticed that certain toilet tissues use images of babies on their packaging. This is highly misleading, as babies are the only people who do not use toilet paper.
Thinking about this further, it could be said that certain invalids are also exempt from using toilet paper. I have no doubts that the severely disabled will soon appear on television extolling the virtues of various toilet papers.

Well I just found out that Portland Parks and Recreation has cut the entire Senior Services and Disabled Services programs. My mom works as a recreation leader for Senior Services. Aside from this being a completely horrible prospect for seniors, many of whom are otherwise almost totally isolated, and mentally disabled people, my mom might lose her job. There is a chance that she can downsize back to being a secretary and move to a different department because she has seniority. Despite, she is very distraught at losing a job that she loves. I'm scared. This is the first time the recession has really hit home seriously. My dad has a temporary job until next month that he may or may not be hired back for, my mom might not have a job and my job ends in February.
Lame.
At the concept of my entire family being out of work I suddenly seriously appreciate my job that I'm otherwise not excited about going to.

I'm so nervous about the election tonight. I'm pretty sure I'll cry whichever way it comes out.

Factoid:
Oregon: "The name's origin has long been disputed. Most likely it derives from wauregan, the word for "good, beautiful" in the language of the Connecticut Mohegan tribe. The Mohegans apparently also used the word to refer to a great, westward-flowing river--probably the Ohio. But after British army Major Robert Rogers took Mohegan guides on his exploration of the Ohio River in 1758-60, he wrote an unsuccessful petition to the British crown in 1765, seeking finances for a longer expedition to find the 'Ouragon' River, which he brazenly claimed would lead across the uncharted side of the continent to the Pacific." --Hiking Oregon's History by William L. Sullivan
They didn't find any river crossing the US, but they did end up naming the territory at the end of their search with the lost river's name.
Yay!

Oh having no health care blows. I am off of my anxiety/depression now, and just...man. I cry all the time for no reason. I just cried for an hour because the day before yesterday on my way home from work I passed a little salamander crawing along in the dirt, in the sun, far far away from anything wet or shady. I wondered how in the world he got there and I considered taking him back to the Reed canyon which was about two blocks away but decided against it. Then today as I was walking home I saw his little dried up corpse. I should have helped him. When I think about it I just feel so intensely guilty even though I know I'm overreacting. Augh and I'm crying again. I hate my brain I hate it I hate it.

Halloween (and my birthday) are coming up. What to dress up as? I've always known that a lot of girls use Halloween as another excuse to dress up to slutty extremes but who knew there were so many sexy costumes?
Exhibit A:

And there are so many more!

If you could have any song as your doorbell (in ding-dong form) what would it be? I think mine would be Space Oddity by Bowie.
I can't wait to start working -> to save up money -> to move out of my parents house! also to take yoga classes, buy my own groceries and not have to do other people's dishes.
